Chamaraja MLA Vasu yesterday said that a meeting of officials and citizens would be organised to solve the drinking water problem faced by the city during next week.
Speaking at a meeting organised by Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) in Yadavagiri, he said that lack of co-ordination between the officials of MCC and JUSCO had led to water crisis and the meeting would discuss on the future course of action to solve water problems.
Earlier, the members, explaining about the seriousness of the problem, sought formation of an authority or a board to overcome the crisis to which Vasu responded by saying that he would examine the proposal.
Bhamy V. Shenoy of MGP opined that in the absence of an efficient person as the Commissioner of MCC, all developmental works had taken a beating and demanded reinstatement of Dr. M.R. Ravi as the MCC Commissioner.
MLA Vasu in his reaction said that the issue of posting an IAS officer to the post was being considered and expressed the possibility of Dr. Ravi being posted back.
People’s Park: MGP members also presented a memorandum seeking a ban on the construction of a library in People’s Park premises which is an oxygen zone in the heart of the city to which Vasu responded by saying that the proposal would be looked into.
MGP President Srimathi Hariprasad, Working President Mahesh, Prof. Chandraprakash, Prof. Shekar, Maj. Gen. (retd.) S.G. Vomabtkere and others were present.
