Mysore, Sept. 29 (DM)- Medical Education Minister S.A. Ramdas inaugurated the newly-constructed 'Wadiyar Hall' at Mysore Paints and Varnish Ltd., here on Monday. The Minister also unveiled Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar's portrait and launched the Biometric Attendance System for the staff on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramdas said the Mysore Lac and Paints, which was established by the late Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar 73 years ago, has been making profit.
Also, the factory has given life to thousands of families, he said while lauding Wadiyar for setting up other establishments in the city like the Sandalwood Factory, Silk Factory and the Mysore University.
Continuing, Ramdas said Wadiyar was such a great personality that he pledged his own jewels to fund his projects, whenever the projects ran short of funds. It is really commendable that Mylac has built Wadiyar Hall and unveiled Wadiyar's portrait to coincide with his 115th birth anniversary.
Mylac Chairman M.V. Ravishankar, who also spoke on the occasion, appealed to the Minister to relax KTPP rules so as to enable all government establishments to purchase paint requirements from Mylac.

The Minister was feted on the occasion. Human Resources Manager C. Harakumar welcomed the gathering while General Manager Lakshminarayan proposed a vote of thanks.
