The inauguration of the much-hyped Mini Vidhana Soudha in city seems to be unlikely tomorrow.

As Opposition leader Siddharamaiah is said to be away that day from city, the inaugural ceremony is believed to have been put off and the information has been passed on to the District Administration and the District In-charge Minister.

Siddharamaiah inspected the Mini Vidhana Soudha on Friday and reportedly informed the PWD officials about his absence tomorrow and suggested them to look for another date for inauguration to be done by the Chief Minister. Speaking to the media, Siddharamaiah recalled that the foundation was laid for the Mini Vidhana Soudha during his tenure in 2004 and Rs. 9.5 crore has been spent on the construction of the building and Rs. 1.25 crore will be spent for furnishing it.

In-charge DC Dr. Ajay Nagabhushan, Assistant Commissioner Basavaraj, Superintending Engineer Suresh Babu, Executive Engineer Krishna Murthy, former ZP President Marigowda and others were present

Tipu Varsity: Later addressing a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan, Siddharamaiah urged the government to provide the needed land in Srirangapatna to establish the proposed Tipu University.

He reiterated that the University would reserve only 50% of the seats for the minority community while the remaining 50% would be available for others.

He regretted that MLC G. Madhusudan was behaving like an RSS spokesperson, misleading the people, distorting history and throwing blames on the great Tipu.
