In all, 52 MBA students led by Dr. Balaji Rao, Professor and Lakshmi, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration, Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), went on a study exchange tour to Singapore and Malaysia from Jan. 27 to Feb.4.
The team visited commercial firms, Government bureaus and Singapore Human Resource Institute. This academic trip increased the students’ understanding of host country’s economic and cultural developments.
Talks given by some of the speakers like Ritu Bharadwaj, Managing Director, Knowledge Dynamics Pvt., Ltd., on “Keeping up with trends that make HR a success”; Yeo Oon Chye, Vice-President, HR (CPD & Asia), Molex Far East South Management Pvt., Ltd., on “HR Management – Going Regional and Global” and “Financial and Business Trends for 2013 – Avoiding Financial Traps” by Dr. Alex Lum, Director, Institute for Financial Literacy, were the highlights of the event.
A one-day professional workshop on “Emotional Intelligence for success” organised by Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI), Singapore, was useful for the students to groom their leadership skills.
VVCE is keen on entering into an MoU with SHRI to improve the standards of teaching and research.
In Malaysia, the students explored the local cultural blend and the layout design of Industrial estates in and around Kuala Lumpur.
A visit to the small scale industries and promotional activities of the Malaysian tourism is another highlight of the trip.
The students also visited places like Santosa Island, Night Safari, East coast park, Merlion in Singapore and Petronas Towers, Genting Island, Batucaves and so on.
This unique programme by VVCE is a benchmark in establishing international standards of imparting quality education in management.
The international certification from SHRI, Singapore, empowers students to internationalise their career opportunities.
