Mysore, Mar. 13 (KCU&KK)- To create awareness on the evil effects of human trafficking, a novel concept called Yoga Stops Trafficking (YST) was conceptualised today by Odanadi, an NGO.
Over 200 people, mostly foreigners and a few rehabilitated inmates of the NGO, performed yoga for about an hour near Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple near Mysore Palace here this morning. To give a thrust to the concept, similar mass yoga would be performed today in 30 countries across the globe, as learnt from the organisers.
The participants hailing from UK, US, Australia, Nigeria and other countries with various professional background performed yoga with excellent synchronisation symbolising dedication and discipline. Most of them were students of yoga centres in city.
All the participants wore white T-shirts and black trousers. The kids rescued by the NGO along with the foreigners took an oath on the occasion to love everybody with a sense of empathy.
Christina of US opined that English was one language to link people across the world but of late, yoga too has acquired that status.
Katie, also of US and an environment engineer, observed that aerobics and gymnastics only shape the body but yoga with a spiritual touch literally cleanses the mind too.
Paul, a doctor from Australia, felt that yoga was not just a workout but has a language in itself.
All the participants unanimously voiced that human trafficking was an international problem responsible for spread of AIDS and helping paedophilia, which should be curbed.
Stanley, Parashuram, Shivaprasad and Ashwath of Odanadi were present.
