Minister Ramdas tells Corporators to make it a success

Mysore, Sept. 25 (MRS&RK)- This time it will be a unique kind of Dasara. Minister S.A. Ramdas wants every household to actively involve in the celebration of the festivities for a week. The Minister, who held a meeting of Corporators today at the DC's office, requested them to make his concept of Mane Mane Dasara (Dasara in every household) a success.

The Mane Mane Dasara should be held from Oct. 1 to Oct. 7 (the official celebration will begin on Oct. 8 and end with Vijayadashami — Jumboo Savari — procession on Oct. 17.) The main idea is to spread the festive atmosphere throughout the city and not to restrict it to Mysore Palace and K.R. Circle, he said.

Ramdas appealed to the women in every household to draw rangoli in front of their houses, decorate the houses with buntings and arrange Dasara dolls during the week-long Mane Mane Dasara to relive the past glory when all the residents of the city celebrated the festival involving themselves actively.

Judges will visit the houses and select the best decorated houses for prizes, Ramdas said and enthused the Corporators to encourage residents in their respective wards to make Mane Mane Dasara a success.

The Corporators gave several valuable suggestions to the Minister while welcoming his concept. Mayor Sandesh Swamy, former Minister Tanveer Sait, Corporators R. Lingappa, K.T. Cheluvegowda, P. Devaraju, Sunanda Palanetra, Bhyrappa and others spoke.

Exhibition Authority Chairman B.P. Manjunath, Dy. Commissioner Harsha Gupta, Superintendent of Police Ram Subba, MUDA Commissioner P.C. Jayanna & others were present.
