A lilting musical tribute was paid to legendary playback singer late P.B. Srinivas at a programme held at Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road here last evening where Raghavendra Ratnakar and troupe presented old Kannada movie songs sung by P.B. Srinivas.
The programme was aptly titled ‘Ninade Nenapu.’
The programme began with the original track of ‘Sharanu Sharanayya Sharanu Benaka’ sung by P.B. Srinivas and a couple of shlokas were rendered by Sambhamurthy.
Raghavendra Ratnakar and his wife Dr. Preetam Raghavendra rendered ‘Kapadu Sri Satyanarayana' with ardent devotion followed by ‘Nee mudida mallige hoovina male’ enthralling the audience.
Arunachal Prasad’s rendition of ‘Aagadu yendu’ from the movie Bangarada Manushya had the real punch to inspire anyone.
Inaugurating the programme, Brahmana Mahasabha State Vice-President K. Raghuram said that P.B. Srinivas’ contribution to music was something which could never be quantified.
Former Corporators M.D. Parthasarathy, Yashaswini Somashekar and theatrist Srikanta Gundappa were present.
