"Good leadership and good quality production are essential for a company to sustain in competitive world," said Dr. B. Mahadevan, Professor of Production and Operations Management, IIM, Bangalore.
He was delivering his inaugural address at the Conclave on 'Operational Excellence for World Class Manufacturing’' organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Hotel Sandesh The Prince in city this morning.
"Nowadays, the market is over crowded with impurities, political climate, high level corruption and supply chain bottle neck inefficiency, which needs to be addressed immediately for a better market situation," he said.
"For excellence in operation in any company and industry, it is important to deploy good system, invest in soft aspects. It is also important for a company to have a clear vision and good leaders to achieve operational excellence. The productivity in the country has so far failed in meeting these challenges," said Mahadevan.
Experts from industries have been invited to deliver special talks on various topics in the day-long conclave.
V.K. Shanmugam, Convenor, Manufacturing and Technology Panel, CII & VP, TVS Motor Company and T.R. Parasuraman, Sr. Vice-President, Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts were present.
