KSRTC will be operating ‘Fly Buses’ from Bangalore International Airport (BIA) to Mysore and vice-versa from Aug. 14 for which the booking was opened from Sunday.

KSRTC entered into an MoU with BIA to operate buses between airport and Mysore.

KSRTC will operate luxury buses to the airport which will have chemical toilets and pantry facilities. The travel fare has been fixed at Rs. 1,000, including snacks. The bus will travel non-stop to Mysore via Yelahanka, Jalahalli, NICE Road and Kengeri. KSRTC has also announced discounts on bulk bookings.

KSTRC Managing Director Manjunath Prasad said that that the bus service has been launched to ease travel for anyone going from Mysore to BIA. “The taxi will usually will cost between Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,000 which can be reduced using the Fly Bus services. This apart, those using the public transport will no longer have to change buses as this is a direct bus service,” he added.

Manjunath added that in a few months, similar bus facilities will be introduced to Tirupati, Mangalore, Udupi and Coimbatore.

The buses will be light brownish-gold in colour and will have separate departure points at BIA and Mysore sub-urban bus stops, said Manjunath.

The Fly Bus will have two services to BIA from Mysore and vice-versa. The bus is slated to depart from BIA at 9.45 am and 9.45 pm and arrive in Mysore at 1.45 pm and 1.30 am respectively.
