Mysore, Sept. 22 (RK& KMC)- The driver and conductor of a KSRTC bus have displayed exemplary honesty yesterday in handing over a valuable gold chain to the Police, which they found lying in the bus.
Driver N. Narayana and conductor Basavanna of the City Bus Route No. 62 (KA-09, F-4577) of Kuvempunagar Depot plying between City Bus Stand and Ramakrishnanagar said that they had found the gold chain weighing 40 grams at the end of their shift, at around 11 am on Monday, before leaving the bus in the Depot.
They are said to have waited for an hour at the Depot, anticipating the chain's owner to come in search of it.
The duo then went to Kuvempunagar Police Station and handed over the chain to Inspector D. Dhananjaya, along with a written undertaking.
Later in the evening, a person named Venkatesh, a resident of Kuvempunagar, who came to learn of the incident, is said to have approached the Police, staking claim on the chain. He was directed by the Police to furnish details about the ornament along with its voucher.
