Mysore, Mar. 11- NASA Kennedy Space Centre, USA, has extended an invitation to four students and a faculty member of JSS Public School, SJCE Campus, Mysore, to visit NASA.

The school is sponsoring four of its students — Pavan Manjunath, Rajas Poornachandra, Sagardeep and Manasalakshmi — and Uma Rao, a faculty from English Department, who will be traveling to USA on Apr. 12.

This amazing 15-day Science Educational Programme will give this team a unique opportunity to interview the Astronauts from Apollo, Gemini and Mercury shuttles. This programme will give the students a know-how of the history and future of the NASA Space Centre.

The team will visit the shuttle landing facility and vehicle assembly building and visualise the gigantic crawler transports, have an interactive session and lunch with the astronauts, watch an I MAX programme and participate in a mission simulation and ATX programme. They also shall experience a ride in a 1/6 gravity chair and the multiaxis trainer at Cape Canaveral.

The students would be visiting the Disney Animal Kingdom, the world's largest Zoo, see animals from all epochs and regions of the earth's biosphere, experience technology of 21st century, body wars and roller coaster ride through the human body and participate in Disney youth educational programme. They will also discover the world of Hollywood during the tour and relate to today's hottest television programmes.

The tour will conclude by visiting the pavilions featuring the culture, history and architecture of different countries with a local tour of New York. This educational travel provides thus an opportunity with an unmediated exposure to new cultures and ideas honing the critical thinking skills while giving the students a competitive advantage.
