Nearly 1,800 graduates of Mysore Division comprising Mysore, Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagar districts participated in the job mela organised by the Department of Collegiate Education at the premises of Maharani’s Arts and Commerce College in city this morning.
About 30 companies from Chennai, Bangalore and Mysore including Hinduja Global Solutions, HDFC, Reliance, Apollo Power System, ICICI and Aditya Auto Products and Engineering participated in the mela to pick up the candidates.
The process involved registration, scrutiny of documents, short listing of candidates and preliminary interview.
Inaugurating the job mela, Mysore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Rangappa said that the candidates should reckon the dignity of labour and advised them not to have inferiority complex over any job.
Prof. Rangappa opined that the work force in the country should increase to see rapid development. He asserted that the Indian youth had good intelligence which should be channelised properly.
Joint Director of Collegiate Education T.N. Prabhakar, Special Officer Dr. Monica Ghosh, MCCI President Sudhakar S. Shetty and College Principal Prof. G.M. Susheela were present.
