The Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi Hill here has netted Rs. 1.46 crore in cash, 850 gm of gold and 2.3 kg of silver through hundi collection, effective from Nov. 26 last, with the counting done on Feb. 6, 7 and 14.

Disclosing this to SOM this morning, Muzrai Tahasildar S.N. Yethiraj Sampathkumaran said that the counting was done amid tight security with CCTV cameras by the staff of Canara Bank Main Branch in Nazarbad assisted by members of Sthree Shakti Sangha. He said that the counting was supervised by Temple Executive Officer Anand Gramopadhyaya, Assistant Executive Officer Linganna and supervisory staff of DC’s office.

Yethiraj added that hundi collection at Jwalamukhi Tripurasundaridevi temple in Uttanahalli was Rs. 13 lakh in cash, 124 gm gold and 264 gm silver.
