Mysore, May 24 (RK&KMC)- Harsha Gupta will assume charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Mysore district on May 26. He has been transferred here from Bidar District Head Quarters to replace P. Manivannan.
In a telephonic conversation with SOM yesterday, Gupta said that it was a matter of pride for him to assume charge as the DC of Mysore, which is being developed as the second major city of the State, after Bangalore.
Harsha Gupta, born in Delhi on Sept. 24, 1971, is an engineering graduate (electronics and communication). He passed IAS in 1997. He is fluent in Hindi, English and Kannada. He had served as the Assistant Commissioner in the Land Revenue Management and District Administration Sub-Division in Delhi; as the Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes; as the Chief Executive Officer of Bellary Zilla Panchayat and as the General Manager of Bagalkot Urban Development Department.
After being promoted to the Deputy Commissioner's post, Harsha Gupta served in Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagalur, as Joint Commissioner of BBMP, as Executive Director of Water Augmentation Programme, as DC of Bellary, Shimoga and Bidar.
