ACICM Convenor M. Lakshmana has accused JUSCO of breaching the promise made with regard to the 24x7 supply of water to the city when it entered into a contract with the MCC a few years ago.
In his complaint to the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWS & DB) Chairman Rajiv Chawla at a meeting held here yesterday, Lakshmana said that the information gathered through RTI has exposed the fraudulent practise of JUSCO with the filing of separate Detailed Project Reports (DPR) to the State government and the Centre.
Lakshmana alleged that JUSCO had failed on multiple fronts, including addressing consumer complaints, water tax recovery, regular water supplies, prevention of water leakages and proper maintenance.
Pointing out that JUSCO has been penalised Rs. 2 crore for its apathy and negligence, Lakshmana claimed that the KUWS & DB authorities have written to blacklist JUSCO.
MLAs G.T. Devegowda, Vasu and M.K. Somashekar highlighted the water woes in their respective constituencies and blamed the JUSCO for its inefficiency and failure in ensuring regular water supply.
