A 60-bedded Freemasons Ward was inaugurated at Mysore Race Club (MRC) Eye Hospital in city this morning. The ward was inaugurated by M.W. Bro Vasudev Jamnabihar Masurekar, Grand Master, Grand Lodge of India. Inaugurating the ward, Masurekar said that charity has to come instantly and one should feel joy in giving.
Speaking on the occasion, MRC and MRC Charitable Trust Chairman K.A. Muddappa said that the Trustees of the hospital had decided to renovate the hospital building as well as establish an eye bank. He further added that the MRC Charitable Trust was looking forward to donors and philanthropists to carry out the projects.
The Masonic Charitable Trust also donated Rs. 4 lakh to the MRC Charitable Trust which will be used for the eye hospital. Masonic Charitable Trust President Dr. C.D. Sreenivasa Murthy said that the MRC Eye Hospital had also promised to conduct 500 free surgeries in the name of Masonic Charitable Trust and added that people admitted at the Freemasons Ward will be provided with free treatment.
W. Bro. Ragotham Rao, W. Bro. S. L. Narayan, R.W. Bro. G.K. Balakrishnan, Org. Chairman, RGL AIM 2013, R.W. Bro. Retnaraj Sushilraj, Regional Grand Master, Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India, R.W.Bro. Kamakoti and Dr. N.M. Srinivas were present. The Freemasons will host its Annual Investiture Meet on Feb. 23 and 24 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium.
