Within a day of getting elected as Krishnaraja constituency MLA, M.K. Somashekar yesterday swung into action to solve the water problems being faced by the people of the Constituency by taking officials to task and directing them to form a Co-ordination Committee to solve the problems faced by citizens.
During the meeting convened at the Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) at Yadavagiri yesterday afternoon, he questioned the officials about the steps taken by them to solve the drinking water problem in the city in the wake of summer.
Stating that the water level at Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) reservoir had touched the dead storage level which had aggravated the situation, Somashekar called upon the officials concerned to stop issuing water to private water tankers besides asking the officials to avail the services of retired Vani Vilas Water Works officials to successfully confront the water problems.
Somashekar also urged the Mysore City Corporation (MCC) and the District Administration to hold a meeting in this regard and take necessary action at the earliest.
Corporators Sunil, Jagadish, Sunil Kumar, Manjula Manasa, VVWW Executive Engineer Subramanya, MCC Superintending Engineer Subhan, engineers Krishna and Selvaraj were present at the meeting.
