Mysore, June 1 (RK&DM)-A flesh trade racket was busted in city and 10 persons were arrested by the Kuvempunagar Police early this morning.

Acting on a tip off, the Police raided a farm house at Lingambudipalya in Kuvempunagar Police Station limits at 2 am today and arrested Mahesh alias Manjunath, Ameena Begum and Hafeeza, who were involved in the racket.

They used the services of Haneef, a pimp and a resident of Bharathnagar, along with Moinuddin and Abdul Wajid, residents of Nelambur in Kerala.

The Police also arrested Jaya Karnataka organisation’s Organising Secretary Mahesh Gowda, a resident of K.G. Koppal, along with Anil, Chandra and Karthik, all residents of Kalyangiri in city.

The farm house (Survey No. 33/2) belonging to one Boraiah of K.G. Koppal was rented by Mahesh alias Manjunath.

The Police have seized a Maruti Esteem car, an autorickshaw, a two-wheeler, 18 cellphones, Rs. 20,600 in cash and other materials. A case has been registered against all the accused under Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act by the Police.

The raid was conducted by Kuvempunagar Police Inspector D. Dhananjay, SI Prasanna Kumar, ASI Nagaraja, two Women Constables and other staff.
