Endowment Awards presented to 41 students
Mysore, May 15 (KCU&RK)- The first Graduation Ceremony and endowment awards presentation of the National Institute of Engineering (NIE) was held today at NIE Diamond Jubilee complex on Manandavadi Road here.
Prof. H.P. Khincha, Vice-Chancellor, Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum who was the chief guest distributed degree certificates to M.Tech students.
Dr. V. Prakash, Director, Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) presented the Endowment Awards to 41 meritorious students.
Addressing the students, Prof. Khincha lauded the institute for having earned a coveted 'brand-name' in the State and country. “The college's ambience is congenial for learning is ably supported by good faculty and infrastructure. To carry this trend forward the students should strive to set a milestone with dedication, hard work and good emotional relationship with parents and teachers. Success should not stop here but be a part of one's career too," he advised, adding that students should have a healthy body and a sound mind.
Toppers in M.Tech were K. Harish, K.P. Aruna and Vinayak Halli in Information Technology, H. Sheila in Computer Applications in Industrial Drives, Jovin Vincent in Power System and Y. Lokesh Rao in Production Engineering and System Technology. Over 1000 students and their parents participated in the ceremony.
S.R. Subba Rao, President, NIE Board of Management presided. M.A. Sampath Iyengar, President Emeritus, NIE Governing Council, M. Sreepada Rao, Vice-President, S.L. Ramachandra, Hon. Secretary, H.K. Lakshminaryan, Hon. Treasurer, Directors H.M. Ramatheertha, Dr. C.K.N. Raja, Sreekanta Rao, N. Ramanuja and D.K. Cittaranjan were present.
