With all necessary Police bundobust for the coming Dasara in place, the first batch of additional Police personnel will reach the city on Oct. 3, while the second batch will arrive on Oct.10, said DCP (Law and Order) A.N. Rajanna.

A total of 2500 additional Police personnel drawn from Bangalore, Ramanagar, Mandya, Hassan, Chikamagalur, Kodagu, Udupi, Tumkur and other districts will be deployed for security duty during the nine-day festivities and the first batch of 1000 Police personnel will reach the city on Oct. 3 with the rest said to reach the city on Oct. 10.

Dy. SPs, Circle Inspectors, Sub Inspectors, Head Constables, Constables and Women Police will be given training at the CAR grounds and lodging facilities have been made for additional Police forces at Government Schools, Government Hostels, Community Halls and Kalyan Mantaps in Mandi, Lashkar, V.V. Mohalla, Nazarbad, Lakshmipuram,Vijayanagar and Metagalli Police limits.

Top ranking officials will be provided lodging at hotels, Rajanna said and added that all the visiting Police personnel will be trained by Police Commissioner Dr. M.A. Saleem on how to interact with tourists and people who throng the Jumboo Savari route.
