Anjuman-e-Hadeeqathul Adab had organised two functions on Sunday last at St. Philomena’s College auditorium in city.
On the occasion, the Anjuman conferred Naaz-e-Anjuman-e-Hadeeqathul Adab Award 2013 to Mohamed Ishaq, a businessman at Mandi Market, for his yeoman service in the field of social work and education. The award was presented to him by former Minister and MLA Tanveer Sait. Mrs. Mohamed Ishaq was also felicitated by Mrs. Javeed Nayeem.
Dr. K. Javeed Nayeem, President, Anjuman-e-Hadeeqathul Adab, presented a detailed report about the award conferred by Anjuman. Every year this award will be presented to an eminent personality of Mysore City who is working in the field of education, social service and communal harmony and Mohamed Ishaq Saheb is the first to receive this award, he said.
Mohamed Ishaq and Tanveer Sait also spoke on the occasion.
Dr. Irfan Riyazi presented a poem praising the 50-year service rendered by the awardee Mohamed Ishaq.
The award ceremony started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Book of Quran by Janab M. Noor Ulla Shariff. Ariff Mehkri, Auditor and Tax Consultant and member of the Anjuman welcomed.
Dr. B. Shaik Ali, former Vice- Chancellor, released the book Tareeq-e-Awqaf-e-Mysore (History of Wakf Institution in Mysore) penned by S. Moinuddin Pasha, President, United Minorities Credit Co-operative Society. Urdu Poet Gowhar Tarikervi presented a poem praising the work of Moinuddin Pasha. Dr. S. Masood Siraj, HoD of Urdu, University of Mysore, spoke on the book.
Urdu poets Mohamed Ghouse Khateeb Nagmangli and Mushtaq Sayeed also spoke.
Gowhar Tarikervi proposed a vote of thanks.
