Mysore, June 28 (KK&DM)- The ESI Hospital located on KRS Road in the city has been accused of dumping burnout tubelights on streets. Vandals have been smashing the discarded tubelights. This has made the problem worse, making it difficult for pedestrians to walk on the street. Even the Pourakarmikas suffered bleeding injuries when small pieces of broken glass pierced their feet.
Ward 31 Corporator Girish Prasad, who was among the first to bring this to the notice of SOM, observed that removing the discarded tubelights along with other waste is dangerous as glass pieces would certainly cause injuries to the personnel of the waste management plant. It is not proper on the part of the ESI administration or personnel to be careless and irresponsible on this issue, he said, expressing anger at the attitude of the ESI Hospital authorities.
A complaint will be lodged with the MCC Commissioner in this regard following which a notice will be served on the hospital authorities, he added.
ESI Hospital Superintendent Dr. Jagannath, when contacted by SOM, informed that used tubelights will be shifted to some other place after segregating it from other hospital waste while regretting the wrongdoing on their part.
