Encroachment of government land will be dealt with firmly throughout the State, said Revenue Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad addressing a press meet at a city hotel today.

Referring to the land row at the foot of Chamundi Hill, Prasad said that the case was pending in the court.

About the 43 new taluks proposed by the BJP government, Prasad said the constituted committee report would be studied and a decision would be taken.

Speaking on houses built on revenue sites, Prasad reiterated that those constructions would be regularised within the frame -work of law without harassing the inhabitants. He added that the Revenue Department would be developed and made farmer-friendly. Praising the Sakala Scheme, Prasad assured to make the scheme more effective.

Summing up, Prasad assured that Congress would provide a stable government with transparency in administration. He reassured that the election manifesto would be implemented in total. MP R. Dhruvanarayan, former MLA Chikkanna, MDCC Bank President C. Basavegowda, Congress leaders K.R. Mohan Kumar and Satyappa, former Deputy Mayor Siddaraju and others were present.
