The audience at Palace premises here last evening were enthralled to a delectable mythological dance-drama by Bollywood actress Hema Malini and troupe as part of the ongoing cultural programmes organised by the Dasara Cultural Sub-Committee.

Though the rains delayed the start of the programme by two hours, it did not dampen the eagerness and enthusiasm of the audience who were keen on watching the dream girl of yesteryears perform on stage.

Hema Malini commenced the programme with a formal dance appearing as Goddess Mahalakshmi. She, with her troupe, later presented an episode of the marriage of Vishnu and Lakshmi followed by the Ksheerasagara Manthana which captivated the audience invoking devotion among them.

Earlier, Banandur Kempaiah and troupe presented a folk music programme focussing on contemporary social themes.

Ministers V. Sreenivasa Prasad and T.B. Jayachandra, MLA Vasu, MLC G. Madhusudan were among the audience enjoying the programme.
