Two Revenue Inspectors of Mysore City Corporation (MCC) were suspended on Tuesday in connection with the case of voters’ identity cards found dumped in a dustbin in the park in front of the Law Courts on Monday.
Nearly a thousand voters’ ID cards of Krishnaraja constituency were found in the dustbin, some of which were seized by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ramegowda.
Following preliminary investigation, MCC Commissioner P.G. Ramesh suspended Revenue Inspectors of Zone One, Manjunath and Yogendra, on charges of being irresponsible in not distributing the cards to the voters.
However, the Revenue Inspectors maintained that the cards might have spilled over while shifting them along with other documents. They also said that the cards could not be distributed as the voters were not found at the addresses mentioned in the cards.
The mystery of the voters’ ID cards, nearly 1000 in number and of the same area of a constituency is yet to be solved.
