Mysore, July 30 (HT&KMC)- With the monsoon intensifying, the CESC and the Forest Department have pulled up their socks to prevent any untoward incident that may occur due to uprooting of trees or falling branches in the city.

The two departments have jointly taken up a drive to remove the dead trees and chop the precariously overhanging branches of avenue trees and those touching electricity cables.

CESC has already begun the task of clearing tree branches touching electricity cables passing through the city from the 92 feeder lines.

Yesterday, CESC workers had cleared electricity lines in K.G. Koppal, Jayanagar, Kuvempunagar, Chukkaharadanahalli, Kukkarahalli and Manasagangotri areas.

CESC Chief Engineer Shanthi told SOM that the tree-branch-clearing work would go on continuously. Meanwhile, Forest Department staff too are engaged in clearing overhanging tree branches.

DCF Sashwathi Mishra has urged citizens to give information about tree branches posing danger to life and property.
