Residents of N.R. Mohalla protested in front KR Hospital mortuary here this morning accusing Resident Medical Officer Dr. Chandrashekar for delaying the post-mortem of an elderly person who died in the hospital yesterday.
The protestors, who alleged that Dr. Chandrashekar had demanded bribe to conduct post-mortem, said that though Kaval (65) had died yesterday, the post-mortem was not done till this morning.
They said that Kaval was admitted to K.R. Hospital after he was found lying on the street vomiting blood around five days back. Kaval, once popular among the residents, lived on the streets. It is also said that Kaval was mentally ill after suffering an accident a few years ago. Corporator Sohail Baig and others rushed to spot and claimed the body to perform the last rites.
