The tender process for Dasara Exhibition-2013, which was conducted through e-tender procurement process, has been awarded to Bangalore based Funworld and Resorts for Rs. 4,05,54,000. Last year it was tendered for Rs. 2.80 cr.
Sources said that Vinod Kumar Sabarwal, Managing Director, Funworld, had bid the tender for Rs. 4.05 crore compared to Rs. 4.01 crore bid by one Manju from Mysore. Sources added that Government had increased the minimum bid amount by Rs. 1 crore. The minimum bid amount was Rs. 3.80 cr.
This year’s Dasara Exhibition will be held for 90 days from October 5.
The Karnataka Exhibition Authority has instructed the organisers, Funworld, to issue entry tickets through electronic machines to keep a track of the visitors and also to prevent fraud. The entry tickets are priced at Rs. 15 per son.
When SOM contacted Vinod Kumar Sabarwal, he confirmed the news about his company being awarded the tender and added that he is yet to receive the agreement.
When asked about the special attraction this year, he said that it would be decided once the tender process was complete.
