Karnataka State Backward Classes Awareness Forum President K.S. Shivaramu was allegedly beaten up by a group of residents in Hebbal for his alleged illicit affair on Tuesday and was admitted to B.M. Hospital in city by some tuition-going students who noticed him lying on the roadside, injured and groaning with pain.
According to the neighbours of a house near Ganapathi temple in Hebbal residential layout, Shivaramu is said to have visited the house belonging to a a senior engineer of the Irrigation Department late Monday night.
He is said to have parked his red-coloured Swift car three blocks away from the house in front of a park.
The next day morning at around 5.30 am, when he reached his car to leave before dawn, a group of youth of the neighbourhood, who were wary of the alleged illicit affair, reportedly assaulted him with hockey stick and metal pipes, inflicting grievous injuries.
As he lay on the roadside groaning with pain, a group of students who were on their way to tuition, noticed him and admitted him to B.M. Hospital, from where he is said to have been discharged yesterday.
Shivaramu has not yet lodged a Police complaint, it is learnt.
It may be recalled here that Shivaramu was beaten up by a crowd for protesting against ‘Made Snana,’ a traditional ritual at Kukke Subramanya Temple, on Nov. 29, 2011.
