Police Flag Day celebrations held

“While in service, Policemen should not succumb to pressures from politicians, who can at the most get them transferred to other places,” observed Retired Superintendent of Police of Civil Rights Enforcement Cell, Jayaramu, here today.

He was speaking after taking salute at the Police Flag Day celebrations organised jointly by Mysore City Police, Karnataka Police Academy, Mysore District Police and KSRP 5th Btn. at CAR parade grounds behind Mysore Race Course premises in city. Jayaramu, recalling an incident while in service, said that he was transferred to a different place just for lodging an FIR against the wishes of a politician who urged him to issue ‘B’ report in relation to a case and asked the cops to work without fear or favour besides being non-corrupt as being corrupt, one loses moral right of questioning wrong actions. He also urged the serving Policemen to contribute generously for the welfare of retired personnel on the occasion of the Police Flag Day on which Police flags were sold to collect funds for welfare of retired cops.

Retired ACP Keshavan, Retd. SI S.Ramaraje Urs, Retd. Mahila Head Constable N.B. Rajamani, retd. Head Constable Vajravelu, Retd. SI B.R.Purushotham, KPA Head Constable Mohan Singh, Retd. ACP S. Ramalingu of Mounted Police, English Band Artiste D.Ramu and Head Constable T.M. Poovaiah were felicitated on the occasion.

IGP(Southern Range) Dr. K. Ramachandra Rao, KPA Director A.S.N. Murthy, City Police Co-mmissioner K.L.Sudheer, SP R.Dileep, KSRP 5th Btn.Commandant Krishnappa, DCPs Basavaraj Malagathi and K.P. Bheemaiah, senior officers of the City and District Police were present.
