Mysore, July 30 (RK&DM)- District-in-charge Minister S. Suresh Kumar said here that the Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa would hold the first meeting on this year's Dasara preparations in city on Aug. 12.

Speaking to Star of Mysore after attending the party workers' meeting held at Guru Residency on JLB Road here yesterday, Suresh Kumar said the government has mooted holding Dasara in a more grandiose manner this time. The Chief Minister himself will chair the first meeting. Also, works on Rajapatha in the city which is taken up under the CM's Rs. 100 crore special grant, will be launched on July 31. Likewise, measurers will be taken to expedite all other Dasara work. He will hold a preliminary meeting on July 31, wherein he will hold discussion with officials. The enforcement of poll code for South graduates constituency election and the subsequent monsoon session of the State Assembly came in the way of launching the preparations much earlier, he explained.

However, there was still time left and the preparatory works would be expedited taking the help of officials and the people's representatives, he added, expressing confidence that Dasara would be held in grand manner without giving room for confusion.
