Mysore, Feb. 27 (MTY&DM)- Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa arrived at Suttur helipad at about 12.10 pm today after celebrating his 68th birthday at a simple function at his residence in Bangalore this morning.
The Chief Minister visited Suttur to take part in the Punyaradhana of Kyatanahalli Seer Sri Shivaprabhu Swamiji who passed away recently.
Yeddyurappa was received at the helipad by Regional Commissioner M.V. Jayanthi, ZP CEO Dr. N. Manjula, KHB Chairman G.T. Devegowda, MLCs Siddaraju, Prof. K.R. Mallikarjunappa and Thontadarya, former MP C.H. Vijayashankar and others.
Speaking to media persons, Yeddyurappa said measures will be taken to permanently relocate 300 villages affected by floods in North Karnataka. He said Adichunchanagiri Mutt Seer would present a cheque for Rs. 10 crore today as first instalment for building houses under Aasare scheme for flood affected people.
Continuing, Yeddyurappa said that the Mandakalli Airport works will be completed in 6 months and appropriate measures for making the airport operational, will be taken after holding a detailed discussion with the Union Civial Aviation Minister.
