Three city colleges have been named among the top colleges of the country in different categories by ‘The Week- Hansa Research Survey-2013’ published by The Week magazine on June 9 titled ‘Best Colleges in India.’
The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) on Manandavady Road in city, GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women (GSSSIETW) on KRS Road and SDM Institute for Management Development in Siddarthanagar are the colleges which feature in the list.
NIE, being Mysore’s first engineering college and second oldest in Karnataka, has been ranked 55th among top engineering colleges (the list includes IITs and NITs in the country) in India according to the survey. More than 3,000 students are studying at NIE in various engineering disciplines.
GSSS Institute has been ranked 129 among 3,393 engineering colleges in India.
The survey shows that GSSSIETW is ranked at 17 among 220 engineering colleges in Karnataka. The survey was carried out by ‘Malayala Manorama’ group by taking various data from the best performing engineering colleges.
SDM Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD) has been ranked 58 among top 125 business management colleges in the country and ranked 18 among top 25 management colleges in west part of the country.
