A delegation of various Associations and Organisations led by the Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) greeted the city’s new Police Commissioner Dr. M.A. Saleem at his office in Nazarbad yesterday.

Dr. Saleem, speaking on the occasion, sought the co-operation of MCCI in preventing road traffic mishaps in the city.

The Police Commissioner also discussed with the delegation several issues that included penalising helmetless riders, drunken drivers and car drivers not wearing seat belts.

MCCI President Sudhakar S. Shetty appealed the Police Commissioner not to permit unauthorised vendors to carry on business along the busy road leading from K.R. Circle to Ayurveda College Circle and to stop the alleged flesh trade going on in the heart of the city.

MCCI Vice-President A.S. Satish, Hotel Owners Association Vice-President Narayan Gowda, Devaraja Market Traders Association President S. Mahadev, Hebbal Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association President N.H. Jayanth, Devaraj Urs Road Shop Owners Association President Khwaja and APMC Market Yard Association Secretary R.M. Sathish were present.
