Mysore, Feb. 2 (KK&DM)- Viniv Inc. Shastri alias Srinivas Shastri who had cheated the public to the tune of crores of rupees through his blade company, yesterday apeared before the 5th Additional Magistrate`s Court in city with regard to a cheating case registered in Devaraja Police Station.
More than 80 persons including film actor and producers M.P. Shankar had registered the cheating case and in this back-drop, the court had issued a summons to Shastri to appear before the court on Dec. 27, 2009. As he had failed to do so, a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against him to present him before the court before Feb.10.
In this backdrop, Shastri appeared in city court yesterday along with his advocate Bhaskar and filed an appeal requesting the court to recall the arrest warrant. In his appeal, Shastri pleaded that he could not appear before the city court on the scheduled date as he had to attend the Supreme Court hearing and as such, the warrant should be recalled.
Magistrate Harini, upholding Shastri`s appeal, imposed Rs. 200 fine for jumping arrest warrant and ordered him to appear before the court compul-sorily on Feb. 10.
Viniv Inc. Shastri is the prime accused in the case, while Lokesh and Somanna are the second and third accused respectively.
Shastri, who spoke to Star of Mysore after coming out of the court, said that those who lost their money would get it back. Good will happen to everyone and he would not like to comment anymore as the cases are pending before the courts. In any case, everything will go well, he added getting into his car hurriedly.
