Mysore, Mar. 19 (MTY&KMC)- The Saraswathipuram Police have arrested three persons including a chain-snatcher and confiscated valuables worth Rs. 2.68 lakh from them.

One of the accused Sanju Sharma, 24, son of Balamukunda Sharma, resident of Gopichetti Street in Kollegal, was apprehended by the Police while he was attempting to snatch chain from women strolling along the Vishwamanava Double Road in Kuvempunagar.

On interrogation, Sanju is said to have confessed to chain-snatching incidents in Saraswathipuram last month, along with his accomplice Prathap, from Bangalore, riding on his Pulsar motorbike. The Police have recovered a gold chain worth Rs. 1.30 lakh from him.

In another incident, the Saraswathipuram Police have arre-sted two persons on charges of stealing laptops, DVDs, cameras and other gadgets from train travellers and others.

The arrested duo, Dilip Kumar, 17, son of Ramesh, resident of Ittigegud and Varun, 16, resident of Hebbal in Bangalore, are said to have been involved in stealing valuables from sleeping passengers in trains, since the past several months and were wanted in several such cases.

Police have recovered two laptops, two DVD players, three car stereos, three cameras, one cellphone from the duo.

Saraswathipuram Inspector P.M. Siddaraju, SI Prakash and staff were involved in the action.
