The Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) is entering into partnership with the Government of Karnataka to set up a state-of-art Nutraceutical Food Park in Mysore, disclosed Prof. Ram Rajasekharan, Director of CFTRI, at a press meet organised at UNU Conference Hall in CFTRI Main Mansion this morning to mark the completion of one year of his taking charge as the Director.

The Food Park will come up in a 2.5 acre area at the Institute site adjoining Kalidasa Road (Maragondanahalli) close to Chandrakala Hospital at a cost of Rs. 45 crore in the first phase, out of which Rs. 38 crore will be funded by the Govt. of Karnataka. The CFTRI is waiting for final approval from the State Government, he added.

The Director said the Institute will act as an active partner to entrepreneurs for developing and marketing novel food products. An MoU with the Government of Karnataka in this regard is being finalised.
