The West Indian 'A' team which was in city for almost a week’s time spent its evenings shopping at various sports apparel outlets in the city. They were seen buying cricket shoes and T-shirts at Reliance Trends on Mysore-Hunsur Road and the other showroom at Kuvempunagar.
The entire team used to visit different shops at the end of day’s play and purchase cricket shoes, joggers and T-shirts. In fact, people were surprised to see West Indies team on a shopping spree. People at these shops took snaps of the cricketers as well as the support staff which accompanied them.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, West Indies ‘A’ team Local Manager T.R. Guruprasad said that he took the team to various outlets for them to shop. “The team members bought sports goods like the shoes, batting grips, which are available in a cheaper rate here compared to their country,” he added.
In fact few of them also visited Loyal World in Kuvempunagar to buy some eateries, while others shopped for cricket apparels.
After drawing the first blood in one of the three unofficial Test series, the West Indies ‘A’ team took some time out to spend some time at the Mysore Zoo yesterday. The team went around the Zoo capturing the wild animals in their cameras. Though the team could not visit the Mysore Palace, they were shown the glimpse of it from outside when they were heading to their hotel.
Guruprasad was all praise for the team for their co-operation and said that the entire team had a great sense of punctuality and never missed the regime. With the fresh memories of winning their match against India ‘A’, the West Indies ‘A’ team left for Shimoga to gear up for their second unofficial Test match.
