A career counselling and guidance programme will be conducted by The Hindu at Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar auditorium, Senate Bhavan (CIST Building), Manasagangotri campus, on May 26, Sunday from 10 am.

The objective of the prog-ramme is to help students make the right career choice by highlighting various career options available to them in the field of science, arts, commerce, management as also in various emerging fields.

In the first session, A. Anandaraju, an official from Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), will demystify the CET selection and admission process to students and parents and clarify their doubts on the subject.

In the second session, Ameen E. Mudassar, a well-known career counsellor, will make a presentation on various career courses that are available to the students and interact with them.

Prof. M.G. Krishnan, Vice-Chancellor, KSOU, will inaugurate the programme. He will also release a career hand book titled The Great Leap which provides in-depth information and data on career choices available to the students. The book will be distributed to the students free of cost.

There will be an interactive session with the students in which experts from different fields will take questions from students. The expert panel includes Prof. B.G. Sangameshwar, Principal, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering; Dr. S.N. Manjunath, Department of Community Medicine, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute; Prof.B.G. Prakash of the College of Horticulture and Ameen Mudassar.

Students of 10th, 11th and 12th standard, I and II PUC, and their parents may attend the free programme.
