The audience at the Open Air Theatre in Manasagangotri here were captivated by an array of dances, comprising folk, hip hop, western and fusion variants presented by college students as part of the Dasara Yuva Sambhrama here last evening.
Students of Kollegal First Grade College presented a Kamsale dance on Malai Mahadeshwara while those of Mugur PU College in T. Narasipur taluk presented a colourful folk dance projecting a rural grandeur.
Students of Nataraja college in Khille Mohalla presented a harvest dance. Maharshi college students presented an inspiring dance to a medley of popular Telugu, Tamil and Hindi film hits with the audience, unable to contain themselves, shaking and swaying to the rhythm. Foreign students of Mysore University presented a colourful dance attired in their traditional costumes adding further glitter to the programme.
A dance drama on harassment of women, exposures of conmen and relevant social topics drew a thunderous applause.
MP R. Dhruvanarayan, Co-operation Minister H.S. Mahadeva Prasad, Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha and others were present.
The Yuva Sambhrama will be held at the same venue till Oct. 3 between 6 pm and 10 pm.
