Condemning the serial bomb blasts in Hyderabad recently, members of city’s Alert Citizens Team (ACT) and the City Police Department had organised a candle light march here yesterday.
The march began from JK Grounds with a young girl Usha lighting the candle. The march passed through Dhanvantri Road, Dasappa Circle, JLB Road, Metropole Circle to the DC Office and returned in the same direction to culminate at JK Grounds. Participants were voicing the message ‘Stand United Against Terrorism’ along the march route.
Speaking on the occasion, Police Commissioner K.L. Sudheer said, it is everyone’s duty to protect the country against terrorism, irrespective of caste and creed. It is not possible for the Police to be present in all places. Hence the citizens should become the eyes of the Police. They should come forward and inform the Police about unattended objects and doubtful persons, he appealed.
DCP K.P. Bheemaiah, ACPs Shashikumar, C.D. Jagadish, Vishnuvardhan, ACT’s Prabhakar and others were present.
