Mysore, Oct. 3 (MTY&KMC)- Kamakshi Devi, sister of the scion of Mysore royal family Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, and her husband Athmanya Singh Devji, inaugurated Bombe Mane, an expo of more than 8,000 dolls depicting Dasara and other events and mythologies, this morning at Pratima Art Gallery opposite Zoo in city.

The event is held under the aegis of city-based Ramsons Kala Pratishtana since the past 6 years.

The main attraction of the exhibition is the replica of the Amba Vilas Palace in front of which Dasara processions used to be held during 1935-39. The replica is made of ice-cream sticks and other pieces of wood, measuring 12 ft in length, 1.5 ft in width and 2.5 ft in height.

The procession of dolls include the elephant bearing the golden howdah, accompanying elephants, men on horseback, cannons, aane-gaadi, band troupe etc.

Dolls and other artifacts brought from neighboring States are added attractions of the Bombe Mane.
