The members of Bettada Balaga have come forward to donate a silver-plated door to Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi Hill here which will be handed over during the Chamundeshwari Vardhanthotsava to be held on July 28.

The temple already has one silver-coated door at the main entrance and now one more will be added to the interior portion.

Contractor Rajanna, founder of Bettada Balaga from Gayatripuram, said that the idea to donate the silver door to the temple was mooted a year ago and has been crafted by senior artist Channappacharya and team after a toil of 6 months. The door has embossed images of Ashtalakshmi. The Muzrai Department’s permission too has been obtained, he added.

Two teakwood doors of size 33”x 65.5” have been selected and given the silver-lining with Ashtalakshmi images.

Bettada Balaga has been involved in several social service activities atop the hill including renovation of premises near Nandi Statue and Anna Dasoha to devotees.

Jakanachari awardee Channappacharya of city was assisted by his son Srinivasacharya, Naveen Kumar, Rangaswamy and A.S. Chandrashekar, according to Rajanna.
