Dealers’ Association of Information Technology (DEALiT)-Mysore has launched an awareness campaign e-Shudha Parisara on e-Waste Management from today to go an till Feb. 9 targeting students of schools and colleges in city. One such programme was held today at Vijaya Vittala School in Saraswathipuram.

The campaign is said to focus on managing and disposal of computer and other electronic waste materials.

Inaugurating the programme DDPI Basavaraj opined that an awareness on any topic created among students would percolate faster to society.

Briefing the students DEALiT- Mysore President S.V. Harish reiterated that electronic waste material should not be just handed over to trash collectors as such materials do not degrade biologically and would trigger more environmental pollution. He added that 40 schools and colleges would be covered during the campaign.

DEALiT Honorary Secretary Ganesh N. Sharma, Vice-President Arun and School Head Mistress Shobha were present.
