Mysore, May 25 (MTY&KMC) - National Institute of Engineering - Eicher Centre for Automobile Technology (NIE-ECAT) will be conducting an Automotive Technology Fair at the NIE's Diamond Jubilee Hall on Manandawadi Road here on May 28.

"The Fair, to be attended by automobile engineering, dip-loma and ITI students, is aimed to quell the shortage of technologically-skilled manpower in the Indian automotive space," said Dr. G.L. Shekhar, Director of NIE-ECAT and Organising Secretary of the Fair, at a press conference held at Pathra-karthara Bhavan on Thyagaraja Road here this morning.

"The main objective of the Fair is to familiarise the young trainees with the latest in automotive technology so as to provide them with an understanding of modern manufacturing techniques," Dr. Shekhar said and added that practical demonstrations about the more scientific ways of repair, maintenance and overhaul of commercial vehicles will be held.

The Fair will be inaugurated by Vinod Aggarwal, CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh on that day at 10 am while Ashok Rao, President of Automotive Axles Ltd., Mysore, will be the chief guest, Dr. Shekhar said.
