The third day of Yuva Sambhrama as part of Dasara festival at the Open Air Theatre at Manasagangotri here last evening mostly featured folk dances and theme dances which focussed on the farming community.
Students of Kuderu Government First Grade College in Chamarajanagar district presented a rhythmic dance to Raitha Geethe hailing the humble farmer while students of Shivayogi Swamy PU College presented Pooja Kunitha and Veeragase with the performers successfully invoking a folk ambience.
Students of Maharaja’s PU College in city presented a Kamsale dance with the performers forming a Gopura-like structure drawing a thunderous applause from the crowd.
Students of JSS College in Gundlupet attired as forest tribes presented a theme dance appealing to people to protect the environment. Students of JSS Women’s College in city presented a Indian contemporary dance form smearing their bodies with silver paint and trying to appease Lord Krishna with a modern background music.
Students from Zimbabwe and Thailand of Mysore University presented a western dance to break the monotony.
