Mysore, June 12 (MTY&DM)- A jatha was taken out in the city this morning under the joint auspices of District Legal Services Authority, District Administration, Police Department, Labour Department, Rashtriya Baala Karmika Yojana Society and various NGOs as part of World Anti-Child Labour Day.

The jatha which was flagged off by Principal District and Sessions Judge H.P. Sandesh at the Town Hall, passed through K.R. Circle and D. Devaraj Urs Road before culminating at Nanjaraj Bahadur Choultry on Vinoba Road, where a progra-mme was held to mark the Anti-Child Labour Day.

Judge H.P. Sandesh, Dy. Commissioner Harsha Gupta, SP Rama Subba, Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal and other officials took part.

Principal Civil Judge C.R. Raja Somasekhar, Asst. Labour Commissioner S.S. Shariff, District Labour Officer B.G. Govindappa, Rashtriya Baala Karmika Yojana Society's Planning Director M. Krishnamurthy, Women and Child Welfare Dy. Director N.R. Vijay, DDPI Nagendra Kumar, DHO Dr. V. Raju, Sericulture Dept. Dy. Director N.Y. Chigari, Information Dept. Deputy Director A.R. Prakash and other officials took part in the jatha.

As part of creating public awareness on anti-child labour, Judge Sandesh stuck stickers with the message on Child Labour Act on the shops located along the procession route.

Hundreds of school children participated in the jatha.
