As sporting activities in the country are becoming more and more professional, there is an absolute need to provide specialised treatment to sports persons who get injured during competitions as some of them prove fatal, observed former Indian cricketer Javagal Srinath here yesterday.
He was speaking at the 13th anniversary celebrations of Apollo BGS Hospitals at the Platinum Jubilee Hall of MMC&RI in J.K.Grounds here.
Adichunchanagiri Seer Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji, in his address said that the Seers of the Mutt had constructed the hospital 13 years ago when the construction of commercial complexes were in full swing only to provide medical services to the needy by qualified doctors and called upon the doctors to continue their service in a selfless-manner.
Dr. Hari Prasad, CEO, AHEL Central Region, lauded the acievement of the hospital which had gained international recognition and added that Police personnel would be encouraged to undertake awareness among citizens on the rising number of road accidents.
It is said, the Apollo BGS Hospital in Mysore was started with the purpose of continuing the legacy of its Chairman Padma Bhushan Dr. Prathap C. Reddy and the dream was strengthened with the vision addition of the BGS Group of Institutions with the blessings of late Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji.
Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji released a souvenir on the occasion.
