Abhiyanthararu theatre troupe, marking its 20th anniversary, will present Rangothsava on April 1 and 2 at Vanaranga auditorium in Rangayana premises here.

Disclosing this at a press meet here on Friday, the troupe President H.S. Suresh Babu said: “In the wake of decreased interest among students towards theatre, to revive their interest and create awareness on plays, theatre camps are being held over the last one month for about 63 engineering students (collectively called Abhiyanthararu) of SJCE, NIE, Vidyavardhaka and Vidya Vikas Colleges.”

The valedictory will be held on April 1 at Vanaranga at 6 pm. Former Rangayana Director Dr. B.V. Rajaram will preside with Karnataka Nataka Academy Chairperson Malathi Sudhir as the chief guest. Bangalore Theatrist Prakash will be felicitated on the occasion, he added.

Students will present the play Soole Sanyasi at 7 pm directed by Manjunath Badigera, folk dances and render theatre music followed by play ‘Lights out.’
