Clash of human values and Gandhism in present era was the theme of the play staged by the students of the St. Philomena’s college as a part of ongoing Dr. B.V. Karanth Yuva Rangothsava at Rangayana yesterday. The play ‘Aa Gandhi E Gandhi’ staged by the students portrayed how politicians and society uses Gandhism in the present days.

The story begins with a freedom fighter Siddappa naming his son as ‘Mohan Gandhi.’ Siddappa who was a strong follower of Mahatama Gandhi decides to educate his son on Gandhian principles and values. Unfortunately, his son grows against the Gandhian principals. While the father practices non-violence, son is violent. But, the son’s ideologies are genuine. The entire play moves in both the direction and keeps the audience glued to the chairs.

Srinivas Prasad as Mohan Gandhi and M.S. Manohara as Siddappa have done well. The play was directed by Mohamed Ali, junior artiste at Rangayana and was assisted by Kiran Girgi.

Today’s play will feature ‘Huliya Neralu’ by the students of Maharaja College.

The play has been authored by Dr. Chandrashekara Kambara and is being directed by Santosh Halamani.
